Moving on the Peninsula: what to plan for
- Heritage cottages. Port Adelaide, Alberton and Birkenhead have narrow nineteenth-century cottages with small doorways and no side access. Big furniture may have to come apart, or come out through the back.
- Seaside villas in Semaphore and Largs Bay. Wide streets near the Esplanade, but busy on summer weekends around Semaphore Road and the jetty.
- New waterfront homes. Apartments and townhouses along the Port River have lifts, basement car parks and building rules. Book the lift and ask about truck access.
- North Haven and Osborne. Newer homes on quiet streets near the marina, usually with easy access.
Getting there
