Moving around Marion: what to plan for
- Post-war homes and new infill. Mitchell Park, Clovelly Park and Ascot Park have many 1950s and 1960s homes, more and more of them replaced by pairs of townhouses. Townhouse stairs and tight garages decide how big furniture gets in.
- Units near Westfield Marion. The state's largest shopping centre sits near Oaklands station and plenty of unit blocks. Walk-up units around Oaklands Park often have external stairs, so add them in the estimator.
- Hallett Cove, Sheidow Park and Trott Park. Hilly streets, split-level homes and steep driveways, with the sea views to match. Long flights of front steps add time; send photos if you're not sure.
- Marino and Seacliff Park. Narrow, winding streets on the slopes above the coast. Sometimes the truck has to park further from the door and we carry further.
Getting there
From Glenelg North we come down Brighton Road or Marion Road, about 15 minutes to Marion. For Hallett Cove we follow the coast along Ocean Boulevard, about 25 minutes.
