Store and Marketplace pickups
Second-hand furniture is a big part of how Adelaide furnishes a home, and getting it home is the hard bit. A few things make a pickup quick:
- Measure before you buy. Check the item against your doorways, stairs and the spot it is going into.
- Ask about access at the seller's place. Stairs, a lift or a long driveway change the time.
- Pay the seller directly and agree on a pickup window. Give us the suburb and the seller's first name.
- Glass and marble. Ask the seller to remove or tape glass shelves and tops if they can.
Store pickups work the same way. IKEA Adelaide and Harbour Town are both next to the airport, a few minutes from our base in Glenelg North.
How the price works for a few items
The minimum charge covers most single-item jobs across town. Because the minimum is the same for one piece or five, it pays to group things: pick up the couch, drop off the old one at a family member's place and bring the bookcase across on the same trip.
- Truck, fuel and tolls
- Furniture blankets and stretch wrap
- Trolleys, straps and tools
- Basic disassembly and reassembly of beds and tables
Getting it into the house
Tell us about tight stairwells, narrow halls and anything that needs to come apart. Big couches sometimes go in through a back door or need their legs taken off; we bring the tools for that. If something genuinely won't fit, we'll tell you before we try, not after a scraped wall.
