Apartment moves: book these early
- The lift. Most buildings let you book the goods lift, or put protective pads in a passenger lift, for a set time. Book it for the whole job, with some spare time.
- The loading dock or a parking spot. Ask building management where a removal truck can park and for how long. Without a dock, we need a legal spot close to the entrance.
- Moving hours. Many buildings only allow moves at certain times. Check before you lock in a date.
- Paperwork. Some buildings ask the removalist for an insurance certificate before move day. Our public liability cover: $[amount], with [insurer].
North Adelaide terraces and cottages
North Adelaide has bluestone cottages and old terrace houses with narrow hallways, steep staircases and little or no off-street parking. Big pieces sometimes need to come apart, or travel through a back gate. Measure the tight spots in your new place, too.
Parking a truck in the city
Loading zones and time limits are enforced in the CBD. If there is no loading zone near your building, ask the City of Adelaide whether a temporary parking permit is available for moving day, and give us the details.
Typical city moves
- Students and young professionals moving between apartments.
- Downsizers moving from the suburbs into a city apartment.
- Moving out of the city to a house in the suburbs, often to the beach suburbs near our base.
