Moving in the western suburbs: what to plan for
- Subdivided blocks. Across Fulham Gardens, Findon, Kidman Park and Lockleys, many quarter-acre blocks now hold two or three townhouses. Rear homes on battle-axe blocks have long, narrow driveways, so the truck often parks on the street and we carry further.
- Two-storey townhouses. Narrow, turning stairs are the main limit for sofas and bed bases. If you're moving into a new build, measure the stairwell and the landing before the day.
- Beachside homes in Henley Beach and Grange. Henley Square fills up on weekends and summer evenings, and streets near the foreshore are lined with parked cars. Early weekday starts make it easier.
- West Lakes. Homes around the lake are often on quiet courts with easy access, but check for tight turning circles and low branches over the street.
Next to the airport
West Beach, Lockleys and Brooklyn Park sit around Adelaide Airport, and so do IKEA Adelaide and the Harbour Town outlets. Store pickups and deliveries in the west are some of the shortest jobs we do from Glenelg North.
