Three ways we can help
| Option | What we pack | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Kitchen and fragile | Glassware, crockery, pictures, mirrors, lamps and ornaments | People who are happy to pack clothes and books but not the breakables |
| Everything | The whole home: kitchen, wardrobes, linen, books, garage and shed | Busy families, interstate moves and anyone short on time |
| Unpacking | Kitchen and essentials unpacked and put away, empty boxes taken away | Getting the first night in the new home sorted |
How packing changes your price
Packing adds time at our normal hourly rate. These are typical totals for a move under 10 km with no stairs, including the packing:
| Home | No packing | Kitchen and fragile | Everything |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 bedroom | $380–$560 | $490–$700 | $590–$880 |
| 2 bedrooms | $520–$700 | $660–$880 | $840–$1,120 |
| 3 bedrooms | $850–$1,200 | $1,100–$1,500 | $1,350–$1,900 |
Materials: Boxes, tape and packing paper are charged at cost, only if you use ours.
What we pack with
Moving boxes in a few standard sizes, unprinted packing paper, bubble wrap for the fragile pieces, strong tape and wardrobe boxes so hanging clothes travel on their hangers. Every box is labelled with the room it is going to.
Packing yourself? Do it like a removalist
- Heavy things in small boxes, light things in big ones. Books in small boxes, linen and pillows in large ones.
- Fill the gaps. A box should be firm and not rattle; use towels or paper.
- Plates on their edge, each one wrapped, like records in a crate.
- Label the side, not just the top, with the room and "fragile" where it applies.
- Don't pack cash, jewellery, documents, medication, gas bottles, fuel or paint thinners. The valuables travel with you; the dangerous goods can't travel at all.
