Moving in Brighton: what to plan for
- Older homes, newer townhouses. Many of Brighton's original villas and post-war homes have been replaced by pairs of two-storey townhouses. Townhouse stairs are often narrow and turn halfway up, so large sofas and bed bases may need to come apart.
- The Esplanade and Jetty Road, Brighton. Beachfront apartments and the cafe strip near the jetty make parking tight on sunny weekends. A weekday morning is the easiest time to park a truck by the beach.
- Hilly streets in Kingston Park and Seacliff. The streets climb away from the beach, and steep driveways and front steps add carrying time. Pick the right stairs option in the estimator, or mention a steep driveway in the notes.
- Brighton Road. It is the main route up and down the coast and is busy at peak times. If you live on it, tell us where a truck can stop safely.
Typical moves around Brighton
- Downsizers moving from a family home into a beachside apartment.
- Young families moving from a Brighton unit to a bigger home in Hallett Cove or the southern suburbs.
- Short hops between Brighton, Glenelg and Somerton Park, often under 5 km.
Why the short trip matters
Because our base is only about 6 km away, there is very little travel before your move starts. You pay the same hourly rate as everywhere else; the short drive just keeps the total down. The clock starts when we arrive at your pickup address and stops when the last item is in place at your new home.
