What we need to know
| Item | Tell us |
|---|---|
| Upright piano | The brand if you know it, the steps or stairs at each end and how far it is from the truck |
| Grand piano | The size, and the doors and corners on the way out; grands travel on their side with the legs and pedals removed |
| Pool table | The size and whether it has a slate bed |
| Safe | The weight from the manual or the label, and whether it is bolted down |
| Marble or stone table | The size, and whether the top lifts off the base |
| Double-door fridge | The model, and the narrowest doorway on the way in and out |
| Gym equipment | The model; some machines need to be taken apart first |
How we plan a heavy lift
- Photos and measurements on WhatsApp: the item, the doors and every step on the way.
- The route. Steps, stairs, turns, gates and slopes at both ends.
- Crew, equipment and price confirmed with you before the day.
- On the day, floors and doorframes are protected, the item is strapped and wheeled where possible, and it goes exactly where you want it.
Pianos: after the move
- Expect to tune it. A piano moved to a new room settles over a few weeks; that's the time to call a tuner.
- Keep it away from direct sun, heaters and air-conditioning vents in the new home.
- Leave it closed and in place for a day or two before playing it hard.
Pricing
Heavy and awkward items are quoted separately because each one is different. The hourly rate applies, and we confirm the crew and the total before the day. What else costs extra:
- Boxes and packing materials, if you use ours
- Pianos, pool tables and safes, confirmed before the day
- Rubbish removal and tip fees
